Untrue statements are never effectively countered by public spats on internet forums. All you're doing is adding fuel to the fire. If the statements are untrue, then the less attention you draw to them the better. I agree with Jane - the whole thing is very unpleasant and doesn't serve any purpose.

Well I'm happy to stop feeding that troll, but please do not believe that the Rollright Trust does anything fraudulent or has anything but the best of intentions towards the sites they look after.

The only source of regular income is the small ticket price charged to visitors. EH do not contribute to the normal upkeep of the sites. The other sources of income are private donations and grant aid for specific improvement schemes, which could both be badly affected by the spreading of untrue rumours about the Trust.

If anyone has any queries about what is happening at Rollright they should talk to the Rollright Trust. If anyone wants to do something positive to help then they could volunteer to help look after the site as a warden.
