It was meant to be there only till early August, but when I spoke to the director of the Rollright Trust , he told me that he was hoping to get a 'couple of weeks' extension of the loan of the sculpture - which he clearly did.
I can appreciate that some people might think it 'odd' to have it there and it might detract from the site, (in the same way that the silly Big Brother chalk-eye stunt next to the White Horse caused a storm of outrage from us) but I can only speak from my experience and I thought it added to the site in completely magical ways and forced a rethink of perceptions. Its that old quintessential dichotomy thang...
