Undoubtedly. But are you really saying that 'traditional' ways of genrating power are 'greener'?

(Hi Moth)

I appreciate the green power debate and that change must happen or else we are all fried. But as my own particular interest is the landscape (especially my own!) I think the detriment to the landscape outweighs the advantages. Remote country areas are easy targets for developers and government agencies who bully their way through the planning process without regard to the other strong argument that certain parts of our countryside should be protected from commercial and industrial exploitation.

After all isn't saving the landscape part of saving the planet?

(Really just wana see if I can do this UBB Code thingy :-)

But I read somewhere that the actual installation of wind farms is incredibly environmentally unfriendly (humongous concrete bases required for each of the turbines, roads to get to them and, I think, power relay stations or something.

God knows what the answer is... maybe we really are reaching the end of the road :-( The conservator in me says conserve - compulsory water meters, solar panels on every roof and small domestic wind turbines wherever possible - and governments have got to bite the bullet and make it all compulsory.

Hang on a minute. I've just been strawmanned!

Dear Moth, what other false assumptions about my opinions would you like to make? My views on Iraq or homosexuality perhaps?

I do not like wind farms. This statement of mine means I do not like wind farms. No more and no less.
