Actually I think this bit:

"What we 'need' is an energy source; what we 'want' is an energy source that isn't going to destroy that which is important to us. Perhaps, as so often in life, it's a question of what we need tempered by what we would like."

is complete rubbish. What we want is loads of energy. What we need is a clean source of it. We have what we want for now, but by the time we get what we need it could be too late.

These days it's easy to get what you want, but it isn't always what you need.

Why do we, "... want loads of energy..." FW when enough for our needs should be sufficient?
