So basically people now who want to look to the old gods etc are actually looking at things that old people have screwed about with!!.

Hmm

but who are the old gods/?
we don't know for sure who /waht they are were? so how do we know that screwing around with them helped or hindered? i know that sounds abit rubbish but if we do have gods and goddesses surely they are forward thinking mofo's and they change and are flexible with the seasons and the years? or else how can they reamin 'worshipped ' or real? i am writing this without thinking about it so forgive me if i seem abit disjointed , not somehting i have really thought long and hard over. you see Julina said once (not that i am quoting an oracle or anyhitng) at a gig of his ''why should i worship a desert god?' our land is different..true! but how can i also worship and relate to somone or something that is from neolithic times for example? my life is so diferent to theirs, althugh i still react to the seasons and the natural way of the land, how can i know waht they thought and what thye were really about?
right enough! i 'll stop now!
peace

The Long Man has never been dated. There are no 16th century written records "Ye Lord of the manor has ye Mayke over on ancient hill figure" etc.
there was a Saxon coin found nearby that has a similar image but the staves are a rake and a sythe.
