Hi Wysefool, I remember meeting you at Wayland Smithy a few months back, and recognising you amongst the people gathered there by the badge that you wore ;) He's a guardian (angel) of that place.....
Last monday I drove to Swindon with my son for an interview there, and having an hour to kill drove out of the madhouse of roads towards Liddington on the skyline, found a track by Idston up to Wayland and just walked back to a more peaceful time.... a hawk hovered for several minutes by the track restoring the world to sanity. And you are quite right we must fight for these places scattered so thinly around our countryside, and also for the landscapes that are blighted by roads and developments..
