Isn't this all just a little bit too much navel gazing? Most of the folk I meet at sites don't use internet forums. Quite frankly you can produce all the charters and badges you like, I doubt it'll make one ha'ppeth worth of diference in the real world

To quote the lovely Scousemaiden

"Silbury Hill is being restored in the hope of ensuring it lasts another 4000 years. Ok it may not be being done to everyones exact specifications or standards but it is a positive move and done with the best of intentions.
If you want to "save" somewhere from total destruction do something about Tara before the Irish government bulldoze it and it vanishes forever."

The last Tara update on the Heritage Action website was March 2005

I'm getting my silburys and long men mixed up, but the point is the same.

If you want to "save" somewhere from total destruction do something about Tara before the Irish government bulldoze it and it vanishes forever."

Hmmm, what do you suggest?

"The last Tara update on the Heritage Action website was March 2005"

That's because the agreed HA remit at the start was to run our own campaigns OR to support the campaigns of others where they already existed. It was decided Tara should be in the latter category as there were such active campaigns on it in Ireland. We decided to leave our original report as it is as it still tells the general tale so powerfully (a couple of outdated links I notice though). We have provided periodic updates on what's happening through the Heritage Journal.
