I remember reading Ironman's fieldnotes and completely disagreeing with the 'dejected' bit. I loved the place - to me the stones are survivers, they were there long before the railway and hopefully will still be there when the rails have rusted away. I got the impression they were giving the modern world an almighty finger and a massive f*ck you.
I must get round to writing my fieldnotes for it...
