The Harpstone stands on its own near to a river in a small valley. Behind the scrub is fields and about 2-3 miles in the distance, corfe castle. The ridge that marks the boundary of the isle of purbeck is about a mile or two to the North.

Its fairly open countryside to the east, west & north and if this stone was polished, I think it would have shone bright from the ridge.

Hmm, looks like a visit to the Hawk stone is in order...
