Probably the map reference for it is slightly wrong - my basecamp is at 460m., I think; the grass hasn't started growing yet although the spaghnum moss has. The point in dispute rather than the altitude of the circle is whether or not it is a circle, and persons with less than a shamanistic sense of topography might just say 'it's a chance arrangement of glacial erratics'. Because it's so high up there's been little peat deposited and there are other relics all about. I should peg the centre and correlate the placement of the remaining stones with things celestial (but life's too short). It's another of those things I walk past.
