Checking the EH record via MAGIC calls it an early Christian irregular shaped circular enclosure 40m in diameter surrounded by a low turf covered bank of piled small stones. In the centre of the enclosure are the remains of the foundations of a horseshoe shaped building. There is also the remains of a later peat drying platform.

Considering that the site has only had a 'limited excavation' in 1902 and has been described elswhere as a henge, also bearing in mind the prehistory of the area and the significance of circular early christian sites, I thought this curious site worthy of posting. Thoughts of a lakeland version of Knowlton came to mind.
