Well, if they were planted by Keiller then that's probably what it was called at the time. If some of the trees at the southern entrance were cleared - and I'm not suggesting they should be - then the southernmost moonrise (I think it is) would be visible, when the time comes around.
All this fuss about Avebury and when some estate owner plonks a new road through a roundhouse site in remote Northumberland - there's not a peep from anyone ...
