Greetinks Mr P,

I'm chuffed to read of your visit to Caer Bach. Especially to read:

It must have been placed there i'm sure, it's right in the middle of the fort and carries an air of usefullness.
That thing bugged me for yonks after I'd visited. It seemed so very out of place as you say. It's not particularly local, yet all the local standing stones are. It just didn't add up at all.

Whatever the heck it is/was, it's nice to think of it as useful. 'Cos whatever that use was, there ought to have been one, else why the hell did anyone bother taking it up there?

Hey Hob how are ya
The whole tal y fan area really freaks me out from circle 275 and now to Caer bach, your notes about a mysterious stone made me want to go even more.It had been raining most of the morning so it didn't look as white as in your picture, but it just looks so intentionally placed being set on the same line as the river below . Only Pen y Gaer to go and then its up the mountains for some big cairns.

oh yes, wait a minute ....
