Mrs Wiggy and I spent a lovely day at Stoney Littleton this monday - our second visit, and this time I remembered to pack my torch.
Just out of interest, does anyone else see the very faint impression of a hand carved into the stone at the end of the passage, or is this just my mind sorting random patterns into something tangible? I was reminded of the carved impressions of feet that you can see in Bristol Museum.
Any thoughts anyone - Ruth reckons I'm just seeing things!=;o)

Only been once & I think I had a really crap torch....

Well as its fairly local for me, visit now and then for the peace there, and of course the beautiful blue demoiselles(damselfly) over the brook in August, have never been able to photograph them as they are too quick...
couple of weeks ago when I was there, there was people inside, so I sat and waited for them to come out, a man and a woman came out, and then a third person emerged, a native North American Indian..... and my mind flipped over with totem poles, auroch skulls and pipes of peace and Indian ceremonial happenings round the longbarrow...:) but have never spied any hand or footprints, though there is a bit of graffiti inside... and a lot of native wildflowers adorning the outside of the barrow -so no snipping up there please..
