It gets pretty weird if by chance there was another stone circle on the other side of Bath under the sewage works, count of three so far. There is an anglo saxon burial ground nearby which might have accounted for the disappeared stones but these particular stones followed the circular pattern of the hedge on oldmaps... " Bath and its prehistoric environs" - recent discoveries hit the headlines, there again Bathhampton might not have had a circle. Conkwell is on a classic long ridge overlooking the Avon, prime place for settlement and security.. sorry for rambling
