I'd make two points.

First, some of the Catholic heirarchy can be pretty bigoted about pagans including in particular the outgoing Pope in his encyclical CARITAS IN VERITATE http://heritageaction.wordpress.com/2009/07/10/pope-warns-against-paganism/

On the other hand, I agree some pagans have a bit of a knee-jerk reaction against the Catholic church. Forget history and foget the extremists and you're left with just "folks". Pagans certainly have no right to say their beliefs are better than those of the average churchgoer.
