As you will guess from my relating of the story they came across in the following manner ..

They do seem to be 'modern'. If they're 12th (romanesque contempory) then they're done by a good un. If they're middle ages then they're done by a bloody good one, because carving went down hill a little then so that much stuff looked older and cruder that the 12th century stuff and is often mistaken to be older! If they're very modern then they're not bad I suppose.

Great place though ... if you're straight that is.
