I often find that the usage (or not) of apostrophes can be a problem when searching for sites on the web. I suppose they should always be used when appropriate but many people seem to have difficulties in knowing whether to use them or not and where they should go.

A similar problem applies to individual stones. For instance, Long Stone or Longstone.

I do wish that we could come up with a universal convention and for all of us to stick to it.
