I'd think mebbe silting would have been an issue. It looks like they'd already fallen in 1902, and if not, they didn't have all that far to go anyway. But if they were still visible in '95, another 10 yrs couldn't have done much more to obscure it that the previous 90.

A new photo would be a real good thing, especially if that 1902 one is the only one that currently exists.

That horseshoe shaped wall is a bit odd.

It seems they have. A photo taken from the drought period is available in Billingley's "Aspects of Calderdale", looking just as much like it did when the 1902 picture was taken. Pretty sure I heard Andy Roberts tell me he'd seen it below waters in the last great drought aswell. We could do with finding out where t' plug-hole is for that reservoir!
