Royd Edge and Oldfield Hill Earthworks, Meltham

Davey... just read your weblog n' wondered if you knew about the earthworks just outside Meltham? I visited the one at Royd Edge a long time ago. It's listed on the OS map as a settlement, but it could very possibly be a henge. There's more earthworks nearby that I didn't get the chance to check out at the time.

I remember an old chap claiming to have found a flint spearhead below the hillside at Royd Edge some time ago.

As a matter of interest, which pub do you run in Huddersly?

Cheers KK. Thanks for the info. I have often cycled past these sites. There are some fairly hefty earthworks visible from the road. I will go and have a look next week. I will be working the rest of this week
To answer your other question, I actually run Wetherspoons in Batley, but I did open the Cherry Tree in Huddersfield.
