LOL... not sure if they're going to send a crew out to us - though there is a major dig happening at Heronbridge nr Chester, less than an hour east...
If I am working next Tuesday, there is a risk I could be on Time Team, as they are featuring the amphitheatre dig next Tuesday evening; I work as a guide with Roman Tours www.romantoursuk.com and spend a reasonable part of my working life around the amphitheatre.
I've already been on the BBC2 Timewatch programme this year for about 15 seconds... maybe make it a double? :-D
The archaeologists are also hoping for more evidence of an Iron Age settlement at the amphitheatre site this year; pollen samples last year were indicative of pre-Roman activity. Would make sense - high up on the sandstone ridge, and nearly every high part of the mid Cheshire ridge has some Iron Age settlement. Right next to a river crossing and major estuary, too.
Cheers
