Rombald’s Moor

Groovy Rock Art

close

I just noticed this picture next to the Rombald's Moor news article on the home page. http://www.themodernantiquarian.com/post/24404

How common are parallel grooves? I only ask because the only other place I've seen these is in some pictures of similar things on Gottland.

there are parallel grroves on at least one of the Perthshire stones, but I can't think which one it is just now, I'm a little hungover

Parallel grooves aren't common in British prehistoric rock art.
Here's another one at Ormaig near Kilmartin.

Unusual, I know, for me to be saying this but some grooves appear naturally as an artifact of sedimentation.
