Rombald’s Moor

Calling RombaldII

OK I have taken the marked up photos of, and left the unmarked ones.

I will have to find another way of show what is there under any combination of Invisible to naked eye, invisible to camera, sheep droppings in cups, rotting bracken in cups. vegitation covering rocks, Water in cups, Lichen, Wet rocks, high sun, overcast, raining.

At the moment it looks impossible :-(

sketch your impression of it on paper, I believe a lot of others use that method.

Thanks for your understanding Rombalds II , sadly mid summer is not the best time for photographing rock art in the UK , but seeing the stones in different seasons and re-visiting adds to the understanding .If it's any consolation I have attempted photographing marked rocks in the past few weeks and it's almost impossible to see the marks , but a return in winter or early morning /late evening usually provides a decent pic , cloud cover permitting.

rombald, you're more than welcome to come out with me on a few RA visits, I've got 200-300 in PRAWR still record. Who knows we may even find some new ones & that is a buzz. You'll laugh at the equipment I bring along!!
