I guess it's an unfortunate price that we pay for access. I think that education is the key... make people aware of and appreciate their surroundings. Local prehistory/history/culture should be included in school history lessons, much more than at present. Also, if more distractions were available for yoofs in places like Ilkley, they may not need to take their paint cans up the moor.
As for re-arranging stones 'cos the energy isn't right.... eejits!

I've always said that I'd be quite happy (for a reasonable wage) to spend my days wandering the moor 'dissuading' people from damaging the rock art. I know that Bradford C.C. were awarded a grant recently(ish) to spend on the upkeep of the moor. I hope that they spend it on something sensible, like proper info boards on the entrances to the moor, rather than just laying a load of new gravel paths. Or hanging bloody flower baskets like they seem so fond of in the town!
