Graffitti read as follows:
On the largest stone 'READ FAMILY COURT' and on the grass underneath 'HELL' . All other stones and the tree bore the 'F4J' symbol.
Visited this pretty stone circle, which must have been even more amazing before the tree was felled, for the first time yesterday 25 October, having found the layby recommended on this site - thanks! The graffitti looked very fresh (overnight?)
I met another woman at the stones who was equally upset and she took photos. Between us we decided to contact the Police (criminal damage), F4J and English Heritage who are meant to be looking after this ancient monument.
Difficult to remain peaceful as anger bubbled up at the morans who defiled the stones. No doubt the guardian spirits of the circle will exact their own justice but we also need to be proactive.
Love and peace to the nine
