If it's got honey fungus then they'll cut it down, and no amount of campaigning is going to work, I would say..
Unless EH want lumps of tree falling on unsuspecting visitors, which I doubt.

Still... I hope they do it carefully. All the root system must lie all around the stones. But I suppose EH know what they're doing.
