If I recall correctly, the big house is only open at the weekend but you don't have to pay for entry to visit the barrow. Just go through the gate in the car park and don't approach the house. I think it's always open.
Thanks that's helpful. With regard to Greystones Farm Nature Reserve I think it is the site of Salmonsbury Camp as it comes up when I do a search on Greystones. It doesn't seem to be on TMA but I found it on Megalithic Portal.

ED, thanks for mentioning the Lodge Park Long Barrow - my friend who is a map reading enthusiast has mentioned it a couple of times too. It will be good to visit and check out its condition (some of the Gloucestershire long barrows are a sorry sight).

Hi June,

Salmonsbury is on here, Carl and I have even been!

Look forward to reading the report from Lodge Park, I very very nearly went there one weekend back in March, but found out that they'd decided to not open the gardens until later on (April I think), so never went nad haven't really been out much in the Cotswolds since.

Baza, thanks for the info about access, I assumed it was in the "closed" bit of the gardens, hence my not going earlier in the year. Presumably this means it can be visited all through the winter too?
