I've an idea you need scheduled monument consent to do geofizz (or did I dream that?) If you do it's because the authorities think you are doing "something".

If you ask to dowse at SH during one of those inside the stones visits (and I'm sure people do) I'd guess the answer would be yes. Which would imply EH thought you were doing "nothing".

It's worth asking, just for the laugh.
