Do you mean the rope on the ground? It took a while but EH confirmed last year that arrangement would stay.

IMO it's the best solution and doesn't deserve to be termed infamous whereas a rail certainly would.

When I last went the rope was at waist height and was was definitely infamous because it caused so much disharmony at the time it was first put up. If it's on the ground now then that is much better with regard to visual impact. Still a shame though.
