How about that they cleaned everything out PRECISELY SO that there was no chance of anyone building another one? Wahey! Get me a doctorate NOW! :)

several EH archaoelogists tell me they believe the Stonehenge sarsens came from a drift local to Salisbury Plain.
I was recently sent some photos of the remains of a robbed out sarsen drift valley floor on the Plain which I hope to get permission to visit over the summer.

Well all is possible.. :0)

If those big upright had lain between the litter of mediocre stones on the Downs then that would have been one hell of a task in it'self..

High lift Rowing ??? They were never going to just pull them out of the 'pack' and if they had moved minor stuff out of the way, the evedence would be there to be seen..
