Also - although it is a distraction - there are features in Northumberland where the setting or rising sun or moon appears from a hollow on the horizon with the knowledge that producing that dugout must have taken one heck of a lot of effort. Has anyone computed the total mass of stone at Stonehenge, now and at some time in prehistory? It would be interesting to compare the result with one of the stone rows in Bolton (the one with the big stones).
