Although I don't know of any such route. I would have thought there would have been trading routes from S Wales to Wessex and like the Ridgeway they would have been on higher ground where possible. Although longer in distance, easer and quicker to travel...

I recently talked with a Prof of Archaeology from Oxford uni that showed me a possible route for the sarsens from Marlborough to Stonehenge that was so simple it was almost elequant.
Next time your in Avebury I'll show you,
Pete

I'll appreciate that Pete..

Strange how difficult it is to determine a route of only 20 odd miles (If in fact they traveled that far). There are so many variables to concider.

We are told that it was warmer at the time, But I have also read that it was wetter. More rain equals faster swollen rivers. I have also read that the sea level was lower by several mtr, which would effect the tidal part of rivers. I have also read that it was drier at the time ???.

I wouldn't put a lot of hope on anybody getting a 140+ journey right.
