Hi Clyde,
Remaining completely neutral here, but I just pulled out the relevant issue. Mike Pitts seems to have decided to run a whole series of 'alternative'/ provoking letters, Garry Denke makes an appearance "Stonehenge Armageddon Prospect",(1st April 1985).

Stonehenge representing the glyphs of the zodiac.... and eeek.... a worthy metal detector; plus a leyline letter "tracks once radiated from Fowler's Arm Chair stone circle"

And a beautiful opening line on Silbury "I often travel past Silbury Hill, now that my sister lives nearby, and every time I go by I wonder what it was built for"..

Sadly he is spoofing alternative theories, not unkindly because there is a place for different viewpoints in this world, due to time I have'nt read your theory but I suggest you just keep fighting the cynics ;)

dear moss, thank you kindly
yes i am aware that mr. pitts is spoofing on other theories too. and many of them deserve it, perhaps even me. but i do think that my proposal goes far beyond the usual off the wall theories. the granary at stonehenge thesis posted on the website is just the bare bones of the idea. there is far more to it when viewed in light of the entire neolithic history.

the main idea is that megalithic culture and grain farming were connected and that many of the stone circles were primative hand-worked grain sites. stonehenge was the crowning glory and the only mechanical mill.

i think that britians should be very proud of the fact that they created the first windmill a thousand years before anyone else and that they did it with only their wits and stone age technologies.

there is such a thing as karma in this world and when mr. pits spoofs a new idea, he automaticly sets himself up for eventual embarresment if the theory proves to be true. and let me say this. my theory is testable. not many of the other weird theories can say that. mine is based on sound engineering. future soil tests may prove that grain was in fact worked at stonehenge. mr. pitts beware.

having said this, i look forward to the day when mike pitts and i can work together on this idea. that will only happen if my theory gains ground and is looked at seriously. that will take time.

all new theories, the good ones and the bad ones, are usually scoffed at by established authorities. just look at what happened to darwin and many others. some people are still outraged by the theory of evolution and decry it at every turn.

it is a bit painful to be lumped in with all the new age theories, zodiac, giant, and ufo theories. but it is actually an honor to get the same treatment that darwin got... perhaps in the next world, he and i can sit around and have a good laugh. and if darwin is right, mankind just might evolve to think my theory is correct.

have a good day,
clyde the spoofed-on one
