stuff and although the evidence is slight for these some people believe in these wholeheartedly. in the same vain your theory can be made to work but it doesnt prove anything other than you have a very active imagination. can you tell me would all the rigging and stuff that prevented free movement within the circle be removed to facilitate the celebration of the seasonal festivals especially the solstice rituals. ?
The granary at stonehenge theory is vastly different from theories about aliens or giants. for starters it meets the evidence on the ground far better than any other theory. it answers why the sarsen ring was made so circular and flat. why the lentels were joined together in such a complicated way, why the sarsen ring is elevated, why sarsen stone was used, why the trilithons are positioned as they are, why stonehenge is located where it is, why the complete rebuilding in phase III, the purpose of the bluestones, and other questions.stuff and although the evidence is slight for these some people believe in these wholeheartedly. in the same vain your theory can be made to work but it doesnt prove anything other than you have a very active imagination. can you tell me would all the rigging and stuff that prevented free movement within the circle be removed to facilitate the celebration of the seasonal festivals especially the solstice rituals. ?
by comparison, does the astronomical or religious use theories have any practicle answer for these same questions?
as for the rigging of the mill being removed for ceremonies, read the thesis. the carousel and all the rigging would have been rebuilt each year after the winter. also all the sails, carousel, and rigging was high overhead (at least 13 feet ) it would have not blocked any sightings taken from the ground in stonehenge.......
