Thrown there, sorry, it was so familiar being from the NW and the date was a bit misleading.

It is 1575. It has two cousins, one by Lucas de Heere, the other by William Smith from 'Particular Decription of England' 1588. Camden included one of these in 'Britannia' in his lifetime, I forget the date, it was around the turn of the century. It throws up questions about whether those writing guides ever saw the monument, or if they couldn't understand it to describe it.
