I was pretty close to being put in their situation by The Vindictive Witch of Whaley Bridge a few years back, so I just can't condemn them out of hand, even though I wish they'd gone elsewhere. The sites they choose are usually high-profile, so this little stunt was never going to create much of a furore in the House of Commons.

I am sypathetic with their cause and I believe in the right to protest. We might even reflect that this activity is encouraged by the NT allowing a mockery to be made of an ancient monument for the sake of advertising as they did at Uffington. BUT as any activist knows if you pick the wrong setting or type of protest you lose sympathy.
