They came down. EH checked the stones and no damage was done.
The protesters were very careful to the extent of covering the ladder ends so as not to scape the stones.

Similarly, I'm sure Channel 4 were very careful when they apinted the Big Brother logo next to the Uffington White Horse.

Go climb a Cathedral or a Mosque boys. See how much sympathy that gets you.
