more on this story on local TV in the west today.
Marlborough archaeologist (probably Pitts) argued that it couldn't come from stonehenge as there is no other stone like it there now.
Naff argument as the alter stone which is still there is also one of a kind.

Saw the updated article this morning. Now I am struggling to work out the angles again - I really though I'd cracked it the other night too.

Which direction do YOU see the etching from ? I had assumed that it had to be within the horseshoe looking either East or West, with the actual direction dictated by the existing outer ring lintel-end.

Is there any approximate timeline for the disappearance of any of the stones after Inigo Jones' visit?
