Just to add to George's News Item, here's a Heritage Journal entry -
http://www.heritageaction.org/?page=theheritagejournal

It does seem as if the Achievable Stonehenge concept equates with the feelings of an awful lot of people and organisations and it just might happen that the government could be pressured into doing some interim improvements sooner rather than much, much later.

Please sign (and spread) the petition and add to the push.

Bump....

Do YOU want there to be a road within yards of Stonehenge next time you visit?

'Course you don't.

Almost everyone agrees there needn't be, quite soon, and that the work could be done quite independently of the long term options.

The National Trust agrees. And Friends of the Earth And loads of other organisations....

But pressure needs to be put on the govt.
Please sign the petition.

Go, go on, go on, go on, go on, you know you want to.
Just 30 seconds.....

Great idea. Am in favour of something, however little, getting done now.
When I lived in Amesbury (and when I visit family there now) I often wondered how many tourists had been killed by stepping back into the road with their cameras!
People in Shrewton may kick up a fuss over losing that road as it would add a few minutes to a trip to Salisbury (which, for an ambulance, could be critical) - but on balance, I'm in favour. Most people could easily travel between Amesbury and Shrewton through Larkhill, or via Airmans X.

Signed up.

Aye! Forgot to post it here, but I added me name a wee while ago - good work!
