Foamhenge

close

National Geographic Channel 9pm tonight. See Stonehenge as it looked 4000 years ago, some interesting stuff on Neolithic boatbuilding and some nutters moving a 12 ton stone about.

Do you have a grid ref. for this 'Stonehenge'?

Thanks for that, have NG channel so will tune in.

......any chance of someone getting this on DVD? All our stuff is packed away.............2 weeks and counting...... I'd like to see myself in action again....and see the sun again......and be amongst such top folk again........

Peace

BTW There is also some footage of the natives on the isle of Sumba in Indonesia pulling a stone along on rollers, they seem to be moving it fairly briskly, all of the Stonehengineers who think we failed should ask themselves why 600 men could only manage to move this stone a total of 100 yards during the course of a full day.

Not on Sky :-(

Are you sure it's tonight Gordon?
Jim.

I flicked on to watch it and ended up watching a programme about Heinrich Himmler's SS. He had over 40000 tonnes of stones erected in avenues on an ancient battle field and held a Solstice ritual involving over 10000 men. Apparently the SS were known as rifle touting hippys. Is this why the BNP are sticking Stonehenge on thier posters?

I am pretty certain (but not sure) that the Foamhenge programme will be shown on UK's History Channel on the 13th February. Awaiting confirmation.

Doing a search on the Digiguide listings, it looks as if there's yet another program on the reconstruction. How many names has the one program got?

DOCUMENTARY: Mysteries of Stonehenge
Channel: History Channel 561
Date: Tuesday 14th March 2006
Time: 01:00 to 02:00 (starting in 27 days)
Duration: 1 hour.
A team of volunteers attempt to recreate the stone circle using only the tools available to their Neolithic predecessors. Will they find out its ancient secrets?
(Signed)
