Littlestone,
Let's face it, they're never going to restore it in out lifetime, and I sometimes wonder whether another major excavation will be undertaken in our lifetimes.
There's no chance of a full restoration unless a new, complete excavation is undertaken, leaving nothing for future archaeologists, which flies in the face of archaeological opinion, and rightly so, in my opinion - how we all wish Stonehenge of the past had been treated using modern methods, but the people of the day were using their own modern techniques, be it Hawley, Atkinson etc. Thank goodness they left the majority untouched.
In another post on your same topic I mention Foamhenge. Now that would be good for everyone to see.
Alas,
TE.
