Foam-henge

close

Apparently Ch5 are setting up today with a polystyrene Stonehenge somewhere near Salisbury, the Western Daily Press states that it is an experiment to find out why it is where it is.

This is presumably the one that will be appearing on their Solstice Night program, when they are 'raising a new stonehenge'.

Tough old work, isn't it? Mind yer 'ed!

any foam druids there yet?

Lightweights :)

Isn't it where it is because of the lattitude?

The sighting along the pairs of station stones at the soltices(?) form a pair of parallel lines. Something like one sights W to E the other E to W.

If all four stones are joined up they make a lovely rectangle, something impossible from lattitudes further to the north and south. (which would give you a wonky rectangle instead).

They knew back then that it was hip to be square.

Those poly stones obviously aren't what they are blown up to be....

Polystyrene Stonehenge?
That's disgraceful.

Any use of polystyrene in an archaeological context ought to be on the basis of having been used previously in such a context and found to be satisfactory.

I mean, take the polystyrene that was put into Silbu

Oops.

I can report that it has arrived on believe it or not "the Stonehenge express !"
