I think possibly coz it's a 'closed' group, anyone who isn't a member can't get in at all.

I could copy the pix & stick 'em in a public yahoo photie album for 'non-members' to see, if you agree to it baz?

I agree. I wonder if Hob saw 'em. Perhaps you need to be a member of any smartsgroup group to see them. Most groups are closed but they still have an option for anyone to see the photos in a particular album.
