A few years ago, whilst visiting Stonehenge, I asked about future possibilities of an after hours access to Stonehenge. I was given a form to fill in. The charge was £10, and on the form they wanted a list of camera and video equipment you would be taking in, with interest in whether you would be using tripods - I assume for damage assessment of the surface. Seems a bit over the top now, seeing as hundreds, if not thousands are let in during the summer solstice.

Yup, I have Special Access which I paid for and they refused me entrance because one of my group was in a wheelchair and might damage the ground.
I tried to point out that the center of the circle was concreted and turfted over in the 60's but to no avail.
No access and no refunds!
A week later hundreds of people were allowed in at winter solstice and churned up the grass with no charge!
