Isn't there a meteorite shower tonight ? There are some patches of clear sky about - is it the Geminids ?

Here's some stuff about the New Moon which follows the Solstice - http://www.mountainastrologer.com/planettracks/lunation.html - it's 'heavy astrology' though. I think, but am not completely sure, that the Solstice is very early on the 22nd.
