Thanks jimit. I just got in from work and had a quick catch up. I think you are making things far to complicated, let's try the simplest method first, that is just use the logs and levers we use to move the stone.

I've been thinking about it all day at work and I don't see anything difficult about what I suggested this morning. Levers from the top of the tower should have it upright in no time.

I agree that you can lever the block off the top of the tower by a few inches, but if the stone's inclined at 70 degrees, you have to move the top by about 11 feet before it's upright (from 80 degrees is roughly half this distance). So how do you do it? You're going to need a method that allows the stone to be moved in small increments and not fall back when you reposition the fulcrums.
