The profile for stone 56 (one of the trilithons) as been known since 1901, see Gowland 1902, see also Cleal 1995. Hope this info helps.

Not finished with erections yet (I'm only 58) go to www.stonehengetheanswer.com. Find page 7 then click "more info" you will see the BBC version of the hole profile. We can still launch the stone from a tower instead of a ramp. Much quicker by miles than building ramps. OK we don't get to do 90 degrees but perhaps we can find a way of levering the stone up using the tower as a working platform.

We probably won't need to build the tower higher than perhaps 8 or 9 ft, and still complete in 24 hours.

Are you saying that the relevant stone hole was excavated in 1901?

Have you seen the reports from the sources that you cite?
