A full-scale replica of Woodhenge (made of wood ;-) is being constructed for a TV special to be shown later in the year. From photos received this afternoon the replica already looks <i>pretty</i> impressive. The new Woodhenge will only stand for a few weeks while filming is carried out and then it'll be pulled down.

If I can get permission from the photographer I'll post further details.

Would be good to see what they make of it, Woodhenge is 1 of those sites that just plants a big '?' in mi noggin!

Can't wait for the TV series when they create a scale model of Avebury using authentic Neolithic tools. It'll keep the schedulers busy for a while anyway ;-)

That sounds exciting! Is it anything at all to do with the Channel 5 programme earlier this year where they recreated Stonehenge in polystyrene?
