I live close by and have followed your directions and they lead me to the middle of the A50. Is this correct and has the barrow disappeared under the tarmac?

I used to work in Lockington and had a drive round looking for it one lunch break. Then after I got the oxbow book called the Lockington Gold Hoard or something realised that it is unfortunately under the road.

Even when the discovery was made it was only a ring ditch and invisible above ground i'm afraid.

Yes, so do I, and it is now mainly under tarmac. Ask the Highways agency:
