Hi Wideford - sorry about the lack of notes after my fabulous holiday last year - I honestly thought I'd posted info about the wells! At risk of the fiery retribution from the anit-well lobby, I'll dig out some pics and pop them on my own webspace to show you...

From memory, the Orcadian wells we found were: Mans Well (by accident!); Logins Well in Stromness; the Pictish Well on the Brough of Birsay; Biddys Well (thanks to your directions!); and an attractive unmarked, unnamed wellhouse in North Ronaldsay... Can't think of any more for now... Couldn't find Biggs Well near Stenness, which was frustrating...

Gotta rush for now, but will fill in details later. I might even do some fieldnotes for the whole holiday (that'll be thrilling for you lot!)
